How do I go about finding this answer? A sample of sodium tertraborate (Na2B4O7 * 10 H20) is heated and loses 1.8 g of mass. How many moles of water have been removed? How many moles of anhydrous salt are produced?

you assume you lost 1.8g of water. or approx. 1/10th mole of water.
so, if we also assume that there are no other forms of the hydrated salt, you then have 1/100th mole of Na2B4O7
