Katmandoo asked:

Around chicken coop in yard, these seemingly harmless holes have been appearing. Not gophers, had last year with those conical mounds. Not garden snakes either. Fills with water with seemingly no bottom. Can’t even guess what they could be from. No other possibilities we can think of. Maybe skunks? Digging whatever? Hell, we’re buffaloed!! Any ideas out there??

Probably moles. You can get treatments for them.

I live in Maryland and had the same thing. What someone told me was that they were voles. Not moles but related to them. If your looking to get rid of them I was also told to use gum. They are attracted to it, but once eatan, they can’t pass it.
