I remember one who would catch a bird, eat it and then always leave the heart at the front door for her mummy. And my sister's cat is always leaving mice and birds all through the house for her. Sometimes on a nightly basis. Yukky I know. But it's just their way of saying "Thanks!" Yep! You’re cat did it. She is giving it to you as a gift. I have known a lot of cats to do that.
