when a animal brings you a dead animal it is like a present… we give stuff that we buy to people we love and animals see it the same way just we have a slight difference in taste…. simplified it means that they love you

as a kid our cat did this and would sometimes put dead (one once half dead) animals under my moms pillow! she asked the vet and they said they are gifts, that they think it shows you they love you… I don’t know we had to get rid of the cat to our aunt on a farm cause this was nasty, but that’s what I heard!

The animals look at you as their leader. In the wild animals bring back prey to the leader as a sign of affection. It is the whole hierarchy thing.

Because you are the Alpha dog or cat, Leader of the pack and in the wild it is only right to feed the Alpha leader. So they bring you food

when they kill an animal they think they are doing you a fovor. they bring it to you sayng “look what i did! reward please!” if you dont appreciate it say no! pointing at the animal. if you like it (i dont know why) say good job and pet them.
