Z asked:
i know that moles are very rarely seen, given their underground lives. I also know, though, that they do come above ground sometimes. Some say they are nocturnal, others diurnal, etc, etc.
Is there any time of day or year that might be even slightly luckier for seeing the animal? I am helping with a (UK) conservation project and would value any tips. Thanks.

I absolutely **** moles. They have torn up my yard and I really would like to whack one with a shovel someday. It is my dream to catch one in the spike-trap.
at night.
you might also want to try putting out bait to increase you chance of a closer look.
on someone you **** all over the place
LOOK AROUND AT A GOLF COARSE, ESPECIALLY AT THE EDGES OF THE COARSE ETC. IF YOU SEE SOME HUMPS OR DISTURBED SOIL IT COULD BE A GOLFER LOOKING FOR HIS BALL OR MOST LIKELY IT WOULD BE A MOLE HOLE OR TUNNEL OR MOLE IF THE HUMP IS MOVING A LITTLE.
