Where Will You Use Your Spa Cover?

There are two different types of spa covers available. Which one you choose depends on how you use the spa and where it is located. In this article, I’ll give you a brief guide to choosing the right spa cover for your situation.

You have seen covers that are thin and look a little like bubble wrap. These thin covers are used solely for insulation, keeping the water from losing too much heat when the thermostat is turned down. In some cases, the B&B you visit might have the indoor spa and you will remove the thin insulating cover before using it.

The heavier, studier spa cover is a protective cover which keeps out debris while keeping in some warmth. The outdoor spa that is operated all year, will benefit from this heavy unit by preventing the water from losing too much heat. But that is not all it does.

This type of cover is permanent and hard. It provides great protection for the spa by keeping the leaves, small branches and pine cones out of the tub during inclement weather. They have heavy bars that can help you fold it over and snaps to keep it battened down in the storms.

Don’t skimp on quality when buying your cover. The vinyl and insulation is what you are paying for and if your tub is important to you, the tough vinyl will keep debris and ice from crashing down into the spa and the insulation will help keep heating costs down.

Now that you have an idea of how your spa cover will serve you, consider one more thing. Safety is very necessary and the heavy snaps of the cover protect your young children from entering the tub. Not only your children, but all children and toddlers who might wander near the tub.

If your hot tub sits in a gazebo, it is more protected that sitting under the stars. Will the hot tub get a lot of sun during the summer or is it protected by a grove of trees? Considering that the fading factor of the cover is as important as considering how the residue of garden dirt affects the staining of the cover. Always use the proper cleaner for your cover. Forget trying to make it shine with those shining products. Those products cause deterioration over time and your investment needs the right kind of cleaning. Enjoy your spa for many years!
