Mouse Exterminator

September 2nd, 2009

If you are looking for a mouse exterminator, you have two options: hire someone or do the job yourself. If you don’t want anything to do with mice or your mice problem is out of control, go ahead and get in touch with a mouse extermination service. Otherwise, read on for tips on getting rid of mice yourself.

If you don’t want to ever have to deal with mice in the future, think like they do. The reason they have made a home in your house is because they can get some shelter, food, and/or water from you.

Keep your property so clean that no mouse would think of going near it. Clean up any food, debris and useless items lying inside and outside your house, as well as easy sources of water (don’t leave the water for your dog outside, for example).

Some oft-mentioned mice deterrents are mothballs (which you can place all over your house), peppermint (which you can spray or plant on the perimeter of your house), and cat pee from the litter box (which you can place next to any holes or tracks you see).

If mice are inside your home and you want to eliminate them ASAP, you’re going to have to buy some snap traps. One of the most popular traps is the Victor Mouse Trap, which you can get for around $6. If you don’t want any killing involved, you can get a smart or humane mouse trap.

If you have no idea where the mouse in your home resides, place the mouse trap where you see urine or dropping. To clean up any waste you see, use detergent and/or bleach.

If you go the lethal route and use a snap trap, throw the mice away while wearing gloves and washing your hands afterwards.

Once you have gotten rid of all the mice in your house, you can seal off any holes that you find. If you seal them off too early, the mouse might get stuck somewhere in your house.
